What’s in a Name?
When we started The Physio Shop, we chose that name because it embodies our mentality toward our profession. Just like you would take your car to a body shop to get it fixed, you can take yourself to our physiotherapy “shop” to fix your body and optimize your performance.
In the U.S., it’s more common to hear the term “physical therapy,” whereas in other parts of the world such as Europe, the term “physiotherapy” is used. The European mindset regarding this profession is more holistic, considering the patient’s overall health and lifestyle. Physiotherapy also emphasizes hands-on, manual therapies and a full spectrum of treatments. We embrace this approach, believing in giving our patients every tool they need to reach their health goals.
