We Are Committed to Community Service and Growing Our Profession
Physio Shop Tucson is dedicated to growing strong, healthy communities through our community service initiatives. We also act as stewards of the healthcare field, helping to train and mentor the next generation of clinicians. Here, you’ll find information about our community service initiatives, pre-professional internship opportunities, and doctoral candidate mentorship. Please get in touch if you’d like to inquire about a community sponsorship or professional opportunity, or if you would like to open a Physio Shop location in your own community.
We Love Giving Back Through Community Service Initiatives
Healthy people + strong communities = our mission.
At Physio Shop Tucson, we enjoy giving back to our communities in part because our communities support our patients (and also simply because it’s the right thing to do). We routinely offer community sponsorships. For instance, we’ve sponsored rodeos, fun runs, and local sports teams. (Below, you’ll find an application to submit requests for community sponsorships.) We’ve also raffled off prizes for good causes, such as a year’s worth of physical therapy sessions, and every winter, we hold a toy drive for foster families.
We’re proud to have been involved with our community through the following initiatives:
- Oro Valley Small Business of the Year 2022
- Served as the athletic training staff for the Tucson Sugar Skulls arena football team
- Sponsored the Mayor Steve Engle Memorial Scholarship Award
- Sponsored the Marana Athletic Training Department
- Supported Aviva Children’s Services Toy and Clothing Drive
- Provides a medical intern training program for high school and college students
- Presented at the TMC Concussion Symposium to raise public awareness
- Served as clinical education faculty for DPT, MD, DO, PA, and ATC students, residents, and medical fellows
- Named the 2018 Midwestern University Clinical Educator of the Year
Sponsorships aren’t all we do. Our team members love giving back to our communities in volunteer capacities. We support various athletic teams by providing physical therapy support on a pro bono basis. It’s part of our commitment to help build healthier communities in Arizona.
How We Contribute to Our Professional Field
Our clinicians believe strongly in the value of making contributions to our professional field. Supporting our fellow clinicians is a way to improve access to healthcare for patients, as well as to improve the quality of that care. We work with both high school students and doctoral candidates.
Pre-Professional Interns
Physio Shop Tucson is pleased to offer pre-professional career exploration opportunities. We invite high school students who are interested in a health and wellness career to contact our location to inquire about internship availability. We strive to ensure that every internship experience is a positive, productive, and meaningful one by providing close mentorship and career guidance. Our interns have the opportunity to experience firsthand how they can make a positive difference in the lives of patients by pursuing a career as a physical therapist or other healthcare professional.
Accredited DPT Programs
Doctorate-prepared physical therapists have the right blend of clinical skills and expert knowledge to help patients overcome their challenges, achieve peak performance, and feel better than ever. At Physio Shop Tucson, we support doctoral candidates through accredited Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) programs.
If you are already a practicing clinician or expect to earn your credentials soon, we invite you to get in touch to explore how we might build professional connections. Even if we do not currently have a job opening available, we always enjoy building our network of professional connections with an eye toward possible opportunities in the future.
